Choosing from the hundreds of dry skin care products on the market can be a daunting task, and expensive! If you want to make things easier, join the millions of women who shop no further than their kitchen. Of course, you can’t wear food on your face in public, so you’re still going to need a dry skin care lotion. But these few simple kitchen solutions will give your dry skin the boost it needs.
There is no shortage of foods that are good for the skin. Here are three of the best.
Cucumber

Absolutely. Cucumbers are loaded with Vitamins A and C, as well as several important and nourishing minerals. Cucumbers are also easy to use. Throw a cucumber in the blender, then smooth it all over your face and neck. Relax for 15 or 20 minutes, then wash off with warm water. Doing this regularly will not only help your dry skin, it can also reduce swelling and wrinkles.
Yogurt
Yogurt has become extremely popular as a way to boost the immune system. Millions of ‘good’ bacteria help fight off the bad guys and help keep you healthy. But it is also excellent dry skin care. The natural antibacterial and antifungal properties also help get rid of bacteria on the skin. And the lactic acid refines the pores, and soothes, softens and tightens the skin.
Just spread it on your face and neck every morning, leave for 5 or 10 minutes, then rinse off with cool water.
Pumpkin
Pumpkin has just about everything you need for dry skin care: Antioxidants, protein, essential fatty acids, several important minerals and a wide range of vitamins including A, C and E, several Bs, and folate. Although fresh pumpkins are usually only available in the fall, you can always buy canned. Get an organic brand to make sure you’re not going to absorb pesticide residue through your skin.
Pumpkin is easy to use. Just mix a beaten egg white, meringue consistency is best, with a cup of mashed pumpkin, smooth it on your face and neck and rinse off after five or 10 minutes.

6 Gentler Overnight Homemade Acne Scar Treatments

Luckily, natural acne scar treatments have been passed down for generations and are made with things you might already have in your house. Most natural acne remedies are a lot safer than using benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid and other intense chemicals.
1. A baking soda facial mask is gentle and non irritating. Mix some baking soda powder into a paste, apply to your face and let dry, then rinse with pure water. If you feel your skin is too sensitive for a whole facial mask, try dabbing the paste onto individual pimples. Let them dry, then rinse.
2. Tomatoes are extremely rich in Vitamin A and C that’s why these ingredients are able to fight the dull and tired skin. Besides its endless beauty effect it can also reverse the aging process of the skin and last but not least hide acne scars.
3. Mixing the essential oil sandalwood with rosewater creates a liquid that will reduce pigmentation in acne scars. These methods carry some slight inconveniences, however. Sticking oatmeal to your face tends to be a messy process. Putting oatmeal in your bath should be done with care to avoid clogging pipes. However, for those on a budget, oatmeal really is one of the cheapest things at the supermarket.
5. Slice up a fresh lemon and apply it to the critical spots. You’ll find it soothing and refreshing at the same time. Repeat this tiny ritual until you’ll see the desired effect. You can also use it as a natural cleanser, feel free to clear your face with a slice of lemon before going to bed. In the morning you’ll feel the toning effect of the citric acid.
6. Slice a raw white potato and place it on top of your acne outbreaks. Leave for five to seven minutes. Helps with acne healing as well as reducing the swelling and inflammation. Apples and honey can also help get rid of acne. Grate a little apple and mix with honey, apply to the face for 15 - 20 minutes. Honey can be very sticky so you might want to dilute with a little water.
